Finally - My 3D printed model has arrived !
...BUT because the model was scaled down by 50%, the circular joint which connected to the bird cage allowing it to swing off the stand snapped off. Also, the connections for the water bowl inside the bird cage broke.
Nevertheless - it still looks good.
Alas - the support material has been removed.
I have decided to keep the stand and base and reprint the bird cage with a simplified design.
I have left the bird cage at the same size, but strengthened the loop connection which broke using a larger cross section.
When i received the printed model of the bird cage and had to carefully pick away at the support material, i realised that the design would have been more practical and effective if the bird did not sit in a bowl that was swinging inside the cage, but rather sat simply on the base of the bird cage. So i have altered this, ready for my second print! (fingers crossed it works)
